Sariska National Park is amongst the most visited national parks of the country and is located in the Alwar area of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Situated around 107 kilometers far from Jaipur, this national park covers an unfathomable span of 800 sq. kilometers territory and is overseen by the Government of Rajasthan. The National Park is partitioned into segments of deciduous forests, fields, rough scenes, and steep precipices.

The Sariska National Park circles the 'Siliserh Lake' and the 'Jai Samand Lake', which are home to various crocodiles, water snakes and different creatures of land and water. In spite of the fact that there are very few tourist destinations around Sariska, the National Park serves as the untainted getaway for the tourists looking for peacefulness and endless spans of widely varied vegetation in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The sanctuary also houses the ruins of ancient temples of Garh-Rajor that dates back to the 11th centuries. Also a 17th-century fort on the hilltop at Kankwari grants a picturesque view of soaring vultures and eagles. Sariska park is home to numerous carnivores including , Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, Leopard, and Tiger. These feed on an abundance of herbivorous species such as Sambar, Nilgai, Chausingha, Chital, Wild Boar and Langur.

All the protected reserves in the country are closed during monsoon season, but here’s something to compensate for that. The Sariska National Park is open for the safari tour for the visitors for all 12 months even in monsoon season from 1st January to 31st December every year, according to the entry timing of that particular season.  Though one can enjoy the safari and savor the view of the majestic tiger anytime, from November to April is considered as the best time to visit Sariska tiger reserve as the weather is delightful at this point of time and nature is in its complete blossom around this time magnifying the beauty of the forest.

Best Season To Visit Sariska National Park

Winter Season – October to March

The winter season, from October to march, is the most preferred season to visit Sariska National Park by the visitors because the winters has its beauty and the forest is bustling with greenery after the rainy season making the surroundings very pleasing and enchantingly beautiful. The flowers are in full bloom which adds a luster to the area around the lakes and other water bodies. Also, many migratory birds visits in winter, which will be causing great enthusiasm and eagerness of bird lovers. If you are traveling during the midwinter season between last December and early January, you must carry enough winter clothes to keep you warm in the wilderness of the forest.

Summer Season – April to June

Of course, the summer season, from April to June, is the least preferred season to visit this park due to the unbearable hot weather. The Sariska National park is really hot in the daytime and the temperature usually goes higher, up to the 48 degree Celsius. Though, it is very difficult for most of the people to roam around the forest in the unbearably hot sun in this season, but if you can tolerate the hot climate then you should visit during this season due to the two reasons: one is there is less crowd in this season and the second is there is a higher chance to sight the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger in this season, mostly in and around the water bodies of the tiger reserve. But of course, don’t forget to keep sunscreens, scarves, and sleeved cotton dresses with you to fight the blazing sun outside.

Monsoon Season – July to September

The monsoon months can never make the wildlife lovers happy, as all the protected reserves in the country are closed during that period but here’s something to compensate for that. The forest authorities of Sariska started Jungle Safari in Bala Quila buffer Zone intending to promote ecotourism in the region where the focus will be more on showcasing the natural richness of the forest rather than sighting tigers. The buffer zone tour of Sariska National Park will take tourists to places like Siliserh, Bala Quila and Dadikar forest area among others. Tourists can explore wildlife not only in the day but at night also.
